2009 Employment Outlook and Salary Guide
The Kelly Services 2009 Employment Outlook and Salary Guide examines staffing intentions, skills in demand, HR priorities, employer of choice benefits and salaries with external factors in mind.
Results represent the views of Human Resource Management and Senior Executives from 385 organisations where 61% have more than 100 employees. The survey was conducted in the first quarter of 2009.
In comparison to Kelly Services' 2008 Employment Outlook and Salary Guide:
- Australian businesses in 2009 plan to decrease their staffing levels by 13% and are putting more emphasis on retaining staff (up by 16%).
- Staffing levels differ this year to last year, where employers planned to increase staff by more than ten in 2008 and for 2009 employers anticipate between 5-10.
- A mix of full-time and part-time staff remains the primary recruitment strategy.
